February 20, 2011 Minister of Education Gideon Sa’ar visits Beit Moriah to discuss ‘garin’ success
On February 20th, Minister of Education MK Gideon Sa’ar visited Beit Moriah at the Mercaz Moriah JCC and praised the organization for the admirable work of its ‘garin,’ or nucleus group. During his visit, MK Sa’ar spoke to representatives from Beit Moriah and other Negev-based groups, thanking Beit Moriah for the organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive Jewish identity that considers all community members to be equally valuable. On October 4, the Midrasha program of Beit Moriah held a day-long educational course for local teachers in charge of their schools’ Negev hike curricula. The successful course consisted of lectures by Negev Desert experts, as well as interactive workshops for teachers to learn about specific hike destinations from local representatives.
