On January 29th, 24 Garin directors from all over the country visited Beit Moriah together with Ministry of Education North region official Chaim Gabai and South region official Meir Sabbag to hear about and learn from the succes of the Beit Moriah 'Garin' (nucleus group) which was set up 19 years ago. December 13th, opening 'Edible Garden' project at Chazan Ovadiah school On December 13th, the Edible Garden Project at the Chazan Ovadiyah School in Schuna H was opened. The project is meant for the children of the school and the Greenberger homes for Children at Risk. Click to see the pictures

Inauguration of community center and synagoge for Spanish speaking immigrants On June 1st there was a very special happening in Be’er Sheva which is connected with Shavuot, the accepting of Torah. A new synagogue and community center were inaugurated in Be’er Sheva in area Hey by Beit Moriah in cooperation with the municipality of Be’er Sheva. This synagogue and community center will be used by Spanish speaking new immigrants. Click to see photos and video

October 18, 2010 Beit Moriah launches joint Edible Garden project in Be’er Sheva
Beit Moriah is proud to announce the launch of its newest social welfare endeavor, the Edible Garden Project at the Winnipeg Community Center in Be’er Sheva. Representatives from our partner organizations, the Asper Foundation in Canada, KKL Israel, and JDC-Israel joined us – along with special guests from Canada, Holland and Belgium – for the ground-breaking ceremony. The Edible Garden is a community project meant to improve the neighborhood and bridge the gap between generations of immigrant families – many of whom come from agricultural backgrounds. July 27, 2010 Beit Moriah receives visit from members of Knesset Committee on the Rights of the Child
On July 27th, Beit Moriah proudly hosted Knesset members (MK’s) Danny Danon of the Likud party and Orli Levy-Abekasis of the Yisrael Beitenu party as they toured Beit Moriah’s homes for children at risk. The MK’s, who are both members of the Knesset Committee on the Rights of the Child, were also joined by Be’er Sheva’s Vice-Mayor for Social Welfare, Avi Worzman. The visit allowed the officials to observe first-hand Beit Moriah’s unique and successful approach to helping children in need in our community.
July 11, 2010 Beit Moriah holds first-ever Yearly Conference for Women in Be’er Sheva
Beit Moriah is pleased to announce the success of its first-ever Yearly Conference for Women, held at the Mercaz Moriah community center in Be’er Sheva on July 11th. More than 250 women attended the daylong conference, which consisted of seminars by prominent speakers including Rabbi Shimon Cohen, Rabbi Ze’ev Karuv, and Rabbi Elisha Aviner. Lectures covered a broad range of topics, from living a healthy family life, to fostering strong connections between parents and children. June, 2010 New sports facility opened in Mercaz Moriah JCC
Beit Moriah recently opened a state-of-the-art exercise and training facility located at our Mercaz Moriah JCC in the Dalet neighborhood. The new facility offers all residents the equipment, classes, and special training necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The new workout facility is equipped with treadmills, spinning bikes, free weights, ample stretching space, and much more. It is an excellent addition to the JCC.
On 13 April 2010 MK Zeev Elkin (Likud) visited Beit Moriah in Be'er Sheva. MK Elkin visited several projects of Beit Moriah. On Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day; 19th May 2010), Beit Moriah organized evening lectures in various synagogues in Be'er Sheva by students of our Beit Midrash. The subject was 'Likdushat Yom Ha'atzmaut' (the holiness of Yom Ha'atzmaut) and other celebrations took place at several religious schools.
